Deborah Library Databases
The following is a list of databases available to DHLC staff members. Unrestricted databases are included and available to the general public. Remote access from a non-DHLC site to licensed databases such as EBSCOhost and OVID is available for staff members only. Access will require user ID and password information which is provided upon library registration or by request to a member of the library staff.

AIDSinfo A central resource for current information on research and clinical trial treatment for patients and health care providers. Information is also available in Spanish. Available to the public
Alcohol and Alcohol Problems Science Database Produced by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), ETOH contains over 110,000 records including references to journal articles, books, dissertation abstracts, conference papers and proceedings, reports and studies. Available to the public
ALTBIB Identifies methods and procedures helpful in supporting the development, testing, application and validation of alternatives to the use of vertebrates in biomedical research and toxicology testing.

AtoZ Provides library patrons with a single, comprehensive list of the electronic journal titles to which we have access including those journals in our collection. Users can quickly link to journals of interest. Searching can be done by keyword or browse an alphabetical list by title or subject.

CDC Wonder Search for and retreive articles in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and Prevention Guidelines published by the CDC. This database contains public use data such as cancer incidence, AIDS, mortality and many other subjects. Available to the public

Corporate ResourceNet Contains full text articles from more than 1,300 quality magazines and journals. The database includes full text sources ranging from general publications such as Fortune and Money to trade publications such as American Demographics and Chemical Week.

EBSCOhost EBSCOhost is a search service which allows users to perform thorough investigation of their topic. Users are able to print, download or e-mail information. This service also offers a range of advanced searching features. Results can be limited or refined by various criteria. Users can also build upon their search terms by using the search history feature. There are ten databases that can be searched through EBSCOhost. Descriptions and access to all databases are included here.

Haz-Map Haz-Map is made available by the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program. It is an occupational health database designed for health and safety professionals and for consumers seeking information about the health effects of exposure to chemicals at work.

Health Services/Technology Assessment Text (HSTAT) HSTAT is a web-based resource of full-text documents that provide health information and support health care decision making. HSTAT's audience includes health care proiders, health services researchers, policy makers, payers, consumers and the information professionals who serve these groups.

Household Products Database This database links over 4000 consumer brands and products to health effects from material Safety Data Sheets and allows both health care professionals and consumers to research the products based on chemical ingredients.

Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) IRIS is an online database made available through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It contains carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic health risk assessment and regulatory information on over 500 chemicals. The risk assessment data have been scientifically reviewed by groups of EPA scientists and represent EPA consensus.

Medline Plus Medline Plus is the National Library of Medicine's website for consumer health information. Medline Plus has extuensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on over 650 diseases and conditions. There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and dictionary. Available in Spanish. Available to the public

NLM Gateway NLM gateway allows users to search in multiple retrieval systems at the US National Library of medicine. The current Gateway database searches Medline/PubMed, OLDMEDLINE, LOCATORplus, MEDLINEplus, DIRLINE, AIDS Meetings, Health Services Research Meetings, Space Life Sciences Meetings and HSRProj. Descriptions of these databases are available at the site. Available to the public
NoveList NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, etc. For over 125,000 fiction titles. There is additional information and a tutorial provided at the site. Not available to the public

OVID OVID provides online access to AACN Advanced Critical Care, American Journal of Nursing, Chest, Circulation, Coronary Artery Disease, Critical Care Medicine, Dimensions of Critical Care Nursing, European Heart Journal, The Journal of Nursing Administration, Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, Nursing, Nursing Administration Quarterly and Nursing Management. Also provided at this site is access to the MEDLINE database from 1950 to the present. Please keep in mind that all of the above journals can also be accessed at the AtoZ link. POPLINE POPLINE is the world's largest database on reproductive health, provides more than 300,000 citations with abstracts to scientific articles, reports, books and unpublished reports in the field of population, family planning and related health issues. Available to the public
PubMed PubMed provides access to over 12 million references from 4600 biomedical journals. Many of these references link to abstracts and in some cases, the full text article. Available to the public
