Get With the Guidelines
Deborah Heart and Lung Center is the first hospital in the Heritage Affiliate (NJ, NY and Conn.) to receive the Performance Achievement Award for obtaining greater than 91% compliance for 24 consecutives months for all of the performance measures for the coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction patient population. We continue to maintain this high rate of compliance for management of CAD and acute MI patients.

The American Heart Association Get With the Guidelines project provides data analysis opportunities to improve treatment of coronary heart disease patients through guideline based strategies. The primary focus of this study is to improve risk factor management in the secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
This project is based on the AHA Comprehensive Risk Reduction Guidelines for Patients with Coronary and other Vascular Disease which focuses on the following performance measures:
Smoking Cessation
Blood Pressure Control
Lipid Management
Antiplatelet agents/anticoagulants
Physical (cardiovascular) activity
Weight Management
Diabetes Management
EF Evaluation
ACE Inhibitors
Beta Blockers
